Book Review: Black Rednecks & White Liberals

Black Rednecks & White Liberals by Thomas Sowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Do you value true progress? Do you value economic development? Do you value financial Independence? If applied, the lessons in this book albeit sobering, are invaluable. This is not a self-help book: this a history/economic examination of the current people/cultures and their success as well as financial wreckage. This book is a deep history lesson on why some cultures succeeded in different environments as well as why other cultures are currently struggling today. I will leave you with one quote from this book below that utterly left me speechless.

In reference to the modern ghettos in the US,

It is understandable that some people are concerned about image, about what in private life might be expressed as:“What will the neighbors think?” But, when your children are dying, you don’t worry about what the neighbors think.
